The aim of this research is to test the effect of a proposed program for sports recreation in developing the athletic and academic self-efficacy of a sample of low-achieving students at the secondary stage in the State of Kuwait. To achieve the research objectives, the quasi-experimental research method was based on a one-group design with a pre- and post-test. To collect data, the self-efficacy scale was used, and it includes two main dimensions, namely, sports self-efficacy and academic self-efficacy. in KuwaitThe experimental treatment applied in the current research included a sports recreation program that contains (27) sessions, including three counseling sessions related to self-efficacy and its sources, and (24) sessions for sports recreation. The results of the research indicated that there is a large impact size of the proposed sports recreation program in developing the athletic and academic self-efficacy of first grade students with low achievement. The research recommended the integration between psychological counseling and sports recreation programs and the achievement of cooperation between counselors and psychologists on the one hand, and sports recreation pioneers on the other hand, to bring about the largest possible amount of comprehensive growth for students.
