The aim of this study is to describe the phonological phenomena in the dialect of Asir Region people, as it is one of the means that disclose the nature of their dialectic. When different societies needed to communicate with each other, their languages were affected, and their dialects varied. As a result, dialects that are characterized by special linguistic features in each environment appeared. However, they share general features with each other. Put simply, there is a specific dialect in each region, and though there are no precise lines to separate two adjacent areas, it is found that each dialect is distinguished generally by some features that are not found in the other.
Nevertheless, the study utilized the descriptive inductive methodology, so as to extrapolate words and listen to the delicate pronunciation, as well as to scan-read the blogs that discuss something about the dialect, to enable the study describe and analyze them each dialect phonologically . The importance of this study stems from the fact that it investigates the phonological phenomena in Asir Region. It examines the common vocal features between males and females, and female characteristics. It describes phonologically how some sounds are pronounced in each dialect, which highlights the dialectical characteristics in some parts of Asir Region. That is to say, the study looks into this phenomena as part of a changing social system due to time and space as well as external influences.
The study has resulted in many findings, most importantly: there is a full utterance of the last phoneme of the words in some parts of Asir Region, and the phonological substitution among the phonemes of the words was also found steady in some of them, and limited in others. Furthermore, it was found that Asir Region People tend to start with consonant, but when it comes to the verbs, the start with the vowel (i).
