The critic Abdullah Al-Ghathami tried to formulate a method of analysis and criticism that is similar to a reading of the literary text, based on modern Western theories that appeared in areas specific to philosophical thought. Such as deconstruction and the sociology of culture, and within what has come to be known as “cultural studies”, it has been termed “cultural criticism”, emulating the Anglo-Saxons in the late twentieth century. Al-Ghathami worked on making cultural criticism a model of analysis and a mode of reading that replaces literary criticism, although it is different in its procedural premises and the purposes of its analysis from the latter.
Al-Ghathami tried to present cultural criticism as a comprehensive methodology that may seem new, important and of cognitive value, according to what his tools aim at and according to what can result from the application of his method, which he saw as a model horizon for reading the literary text. The poetic one in particular, where the research focuses on trying to discover the "implicit pattern", and the aspects of the presence of authoritarian values in the Arabic poetic text, which continued to suffer from its connection to the prevailing cultural / political pattern, and suffers from its hegemony, as the features of the "systematic function" of creativity appear.
In the face of the emergence of deep scientific and methodological criticism, and according to the ambiguities and paradoxes that emerged, both of them printed the conclusions and rulings resulting from conducting the cultural criticism approach on the eyes of literature and poetry in Arab culture. I welcome the level of conducting analytical tools that preserve what the art of literature does as creativity in the art of speech, which raises the question about the characteristics of the epistemological origins of "cultural criticism", and its suitability for reading the characteristics of the literary work as an art whose aesthetic, whose material is speech, is assessed through The careful use of language and its employment, and it is received with aesthetic, psychological and mental pleasure in tasting, understanding and analysis, regardless of the content and purpose of the creative discourse or the author of the text intends to inform him that this is what this research will seek to delve into.
