The study aimed to identify the obstacles that limit civil society institutions from performing their educational role, and the requirements for its activation.
The study adopted a qualitative approach, and used interview for data collection. A sample of (19) participants (11 employee, and 8) education experts) were purposely chosen. The results indicated many obstacles that limit the civil society institutions from performing their educational role. For example, a lack of financial support; weak of societal awareness of the educational role-played by the civil society institutions; weak collaboration and partnership between the institutions and government, and private sector; a lack of human competencies, as well as a lack of volunteers. In addition, the results indicated the most important requirements for activating the educational role of the institutions such as financial and societal requirements. The results confirmed the important of providing sufficient financial support, and activating the advisory council as well as activating partnerships with government and private sector. The study concluded with some recommendations that would benefit the concerned parties to activate the educational role of civil society institutions.
