Summary
The study aimed to reveal the degree to which department heads in the College of Basic Education possess crisis management skills from the point of view of faculty members, and whether there is a difference in the study sample’s estimates of the degree to which department heads in the College of Basic Education possess crisis management skills according to different variables: gender, country of graduation, and years of experience. And the academic rank, and to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive survey approach was followed, by designing a questionnaire consisting of (28) items distributed equally on four axes (sensing crises, planning for crisis management, facing crises, benefiting from crises after their occurrence), and it was applied to a sample formed out of (103) individuals, The results showed that the possession of crisis management skills by the heads of departments in the College of Basic Education was moderate, and statistically significant differences appeared according to the variables of the study. The study recommended the necessity of training everyone who holds an administrative position on crisis management skills.
