The aim of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of a proposed model for utilizing some social media applications in developing physics concepts among first secondary grade students at the Scientific Institute in Abha, Saudi Arabia. The researcher used a quasi-experimental design on a sample consisting of 44 students studying physics in the second semester of the academic year 1436/1437H. The sample was divided into two groups, an experimental group and a control group, each consisting of 22 students. The experimental group studied the unit using some social media applications that were prepared by the researcher, including Facebook, Slideshare, and Instagram, available on the web. The control group studied using the traditional method. The researcher designed a research tool, a cognitive achievement test in the unit "motion in two dimensions" to assess the students' cognitive level. The validity and reliability of the instrument were ensured. Both groups were subjected to the cognitive achievement test before and after the study, and the obtained data were statistically analyzed using SPSS to test the research hypotheses. The independent t-test was used to calculate the significance of the differences between the pre- and post-application of the research instruments on both groups. Black equation was used to measure the effectiveness of the proposed model for utilizing some social media applications in developing physics concepts among first secondary grade students. The research hypotheses were accepted, indicating the effectiveness of the proposed model in developing physics concepts among first secondary grade students.
