Abstract
The current study aimed to develop a future perpective to confront information illiteracy in Egypt in the age of digital transformation. The study followed the descriptive and analytical approach in addressing the current situation of the digital transformation process in Egypt and knowing the extent of attention to information literacy in society in general and the educational system in particular and teachers and learners particularly. The study reached a set of proposals that may enhance the application of the future vision of the current study, the most important of which are: (1) Building a specific and clear strategy in which all concerned parties participate in the formulation of information literacy, with each entity defining its tasks, roles and the time period necessary to perform each task through the use of programs or models and initiatives in countries that have succeeded in addressing the phenomenon of information illiteracy and spreading information awareness, especially among teachers and learners, such as Super Model 3 for young learners, or Big 6,or designing programs and models for information literacy by specialists and faculty members at universities commensurate with the reality and potential of Egyptian society.(2) Developing a continuous plan to develop teacher training programs digitally to keep pace with the age of digital transformation. (3) Developing the infrastructure and technology of educational institutions.(4) Creating a common single digital platform that brings together teachers and those in charge of professional development programs for teachers digitally and technologically;to fill skills gaps and prepare for new roles for the teacher, and includes the provision of training courses, workshops, seminars and electronic meetings to raise awareness and training on the skills and requirements of the era of digital transformation.
