The present study aimed to explore how much Forgiveness contributes to predicting marital compatibility among newlyweds who are visiting counseling centers in the State of Kuwait. To achieve the objective of the study, the Zawawi Marital Compatibility Scale (2017) and the Heartland Forgiveness Scale (Thompson et al, 2005) were used, and Arnock’s and Fouad’s Arabized Scale (2012), and their psychometric properties of validity and consistency were verified. The study was applied to a random sample of (412) newlyweds who had been married for three years or less. The link was sent to them, and they responded to the two scales within a period of two months. The results of the study revealed that the dimensions of Forgiveness predict a rate of (7%) of marital compatibility, and that the newlyweds do not differ in Forgiveness and marital compatibility in terms of the variable of sex and educational level. As for the method of marriage, those whose marriage is non-traditional have a better level of marital compatibility. Based on the results of the study, some recommendations were made, including the necessity of improving Forgiveness among married couples because of its role in developing marital compatibility, especially after situational Forgiveness.
