The study aimed to identify the extent to which teachers of social studies in the intermediate stage in Riyadh possess the skills of employing artificial intelligence in education, and to identify the most important obstacles that hinder teachers from using artificial intelligence in education. The researcher used the descriptive approach, and adopted a questionnaire consisting of (36) items to measure the extent to which social studies teachers in the intermediate stage in Riyadh possess the skills of employing artificial intelligence in education. The study sample consisted of (184) female teachers of social studies at the intermediate stage in Riyadh. The results of the study found that the possession of social studies teachers in the intermediate stage in Riyadh for the skills of employing artificial intelligence applications came to a low degree, and the study sample agreed with a high degree of agreement on the existence of many obstacles that hinder them from using artificial intelligence applications education.
