The study aimed to uncover the role of educational policies in reducing educational loss in primary schools in Jeddah and identifying the proposed methods of enhancement. To achieve this goal, the study utilized a descriptive methodology and employed questionnaires to collect data. The study was administered to a sample consisting of 356 primary school teachers, distributed according to variables such as gender, specialization, and qualification. The results indicated that the actual role of educational policies in reducing educational loss in primary schools in Jeddah was moderate. The sample’s agreement with the proposed methods to enhance the role of educational policies in reducing educational loss in primary schools in Jeddah was very high. The results also showed no statistically significant differences in the study sample’s responses attributed to gender or specialization variables, while there were statistically significant differences in their responses attributed to the qualification variable in favor of those with an educational qualification. Based on the study's findings, the following recommendations can be made: the need for continuous updating of the educational policy content to ensure its alignment with contemporary educational changes and developments, revising the educational policy and eliminating any redundancies or ambiguities, establishing specialized committees of experts to study the issue of educational loss in terms of its causes and how to positively address it, continuous communication by officials with families and the local community to collaborate in overcoming the issue of educational loss, and organizing seminars and meetings for public awareness about the issue of educational loss and positive strategies for dealing with it.
