The study aimed to explore the importance of the play approach in the kindergarten stage and its role in developing social skills in kindergarten children. The study employed a descriptive methodology and utilized a questionnaire for data collection. The survey was administered to a sample of 60 kindergarten teachers, randomly selected from five kindergartens in Riyadh city. The study results indicated the absence of highly developed skills due to the use of play methods. However, there was a high importance assigned to most social skills, with moderate importance attributed to some social skills. The study identified a set of games, spanning movement, sensory, and active play, that were suggested to contribute to the improvement of social skills in kindergarten children.
