The study aimed to propose a vision for the development of the educational research system in Saudi universities, taking into consideration the knowledge economy approach. By examining the current state of the educational research system in Saudi universities, the study utilized a descriptive analytical method to analyze relevant literature. The study identified several key findings, including the weaknesses in producing, publishing, marketing, employing, and investing in educational research, as well as the insufficient professional development opportunities for faculty members and graduate students in the field of educational research. Furthermore, the study presented a proposed vision that consists of six components: the principles of the vision, its objectives, its foundations, requirements for its application, implementation mechanisms, and obstacles to its implementation. The study also put forth several recommendations, such as encouraging education colleges in Saudi universities to adopt the proposed concept, strengthening intellectual capital, and increasing financial allocations to create a conducive research environment for the development of the educational research system.
