The research aimed to identify a requirement for sustainable development and an element of achieving the 2030 Vision in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in particular and Islamic societies in general, which is social responsibility. The research used the fundamentalist and the descriptive methods. The research included a general framework that included the introduction, problem, questions, objectives, significance, methodology, and previous studies of the research. Then there are three sections for the theoretical framework of the research. The first section discussed the intellectual and fundamental framework of social responsibility from the Islamic educational perspective. The second section discussed the requirements for achieving sustainable development according to the perspective of Islamic education. The third section discussed the repercussions of social responsibility on the requirements for sustainable development according to the Kingdom’s 2030 vision. The research reached several results, the most important of which were: that social responsibility is one of the most important means that can promote society and work on the unity and cohesion of its members; in addition to that, it represents a strong feature of cohesion as well as an indicator of the progress and prosperity of nations. In addition, the development of a sense of responsibility in society has become a requirement of contemporary life and an urgent need to keep pace with development and rapid development in all areas of life, especially since social responsibility represents one of the main pillars in building and developing society and spreading social harmony among individuals. The research also concluded that Islam considers sustainable development as rational consumption, which is a type of worship. In addition, social responsibility requires the consumer to take into account the Almighty Allah in his consumption, aim through his rational consumption, piety and profitable work for his benefit and the benefit of his Muslim community, seek permissible gain, and take into account that spending should be on necessities and provide goods that sustain life. The research also confirmed that rationalizing consumption is not the only solution that Islam offers to improve society, but rather directs Muslims to the necessity of work and production. The research topics also emphasized that responsibility in its social and humanitarian approach has become an indicator of good, active and responsible citizenship, and evidence of the extent of development and progress of nations. This obliges every society to educate its children based on dedication, helping others, doing good, and everything that would contribute to the development of societies through all its human systems.
