This research explored the Islamic grounding of historical methodology through an inductive approach. The study comprised a comprehensive framework, encompassing an introduction, issue statement, research questions, objectives, significance, terminology, previous studies, and their critique. The investigation delved into four main dimensions: the first dimension presented the theoretical framework of historical methodology, the second discussed the features of Islamic grounding for sciences, the third unveiled the characteristics of historical methodology from a Western perspective, and the fourth outlined the features of the Islamic grounding of historical methodology. The conclusion highlighted key findings, emphasizing that the Islamic historical methodology, in retrospect, relied on sources for verifying the truth and accuracy of historical events, as well as sources for interpreting and passing judgments on them. The grounding process depended on principles and foundations, achievable only through the Quran and Prophetic traditions. Evidently, pioneers of historical knowledge in the Islamic civilization exerted substantial efforts in recording history, contributing significantly to historical research. They not only worked on its development but also formulated methodologies, enhancing its crystallization and maturity. Some diligently endeavored to interpret historical events, indicating the norms and laws emerging from them.
