The research aimed to determine the effectiveness of augmented reality technology in developing cognitive achievement in science and in developing motivation to learn among students with learning disabilities in the seventh grade in the State of Kuwait. The quasi-experimental approach was used, and the researchers prepared an achievement test in science and a measure of motivation to learn. The application was carried out on a sample size of (21) students selected using the purposive sampling method, from Al-Khandaq Intermediate School for Boys for Learning Disabilities, distributed into two groups: control (11) students and experimental (10) students. The results revealed that augmented reality technology is highly effective in developing academic achievement in science and in developing motivation to learn among students with learning disabilities, as statistically significant differences were found in the post-measurement of the achievement test in science and on the learning motivation scale in favor of the experimental group that was studied using Augmented reality. In light of these results, we recommend adopting augmented reality technology in teaching science in special education schools. And work on transforming the textbook into an interactive book supported by video clips, audio and three-dimensional images. With the need to train teachers to use augmented reality technology.
