The study aimed to identify The Degree of Availability of Functional Competencies for principals of public education schools in Buraidah city.The research community consisted of public school principals in Buraydah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the study sample included (123) male and female principals. The study relied on the descriptive survey method and used the questionnaire as the study data collection tool. The study concluded that effective leadership, community participation, professional development, school supervision, technical competence, and personal competence all came with a (high) degree of response. The study recommended expanding the activation of the school’s role in partnership with the local community and providing training and development programs for new school principals to achieve the requirements of effective leadership, and training programs for school principals at leadership and management, curriculum development and use of technology. The study suggested making more researches about the role of digital technology in enhancing Job competencies of school principals, and the impact of school principals’ competence on student achievement.
