The idea of this research is to collect the narration of Imam Ibn Flih, one of the famous narrations attributed to one of the seven imams, Imam Ibn Kathir. This reading was narrated with its isnad in the books of the early scholars of qira'at (recitation). The aim of this research is to trace the narration of Ibn Flih al-Makki from the reciter Ibn Kathir in the books of qira'at that mentioned this narration with their chains of transmission, to compile, study, and compare it with the narrations of the ten qurra' (reciters). This is to identify the letters that agreed with the reading of the ten imams and those that differed and deviated.
The research consisted of four chapters: Chapter one: Introduction to Imam Ibn Flih al-Makki and the books containing his narration. Chapter two: The instances where one of the narrators of Ibn Kathir's reading from the Tibyan way agreed. Chapter three: The instances where Ibn Kathir's reading from the Tibyan way differed and agreed with one of the mutawatir (consensus) readings. Chapter four: The instances where Ibn Flih differed from the ten reciters.
The research concluded with the most important findings, including that Imam Ibn Flih was an imam among the reciters, and his care for Imam Ibn Kathir's reading was evident. He used to say, "I read with more than eighty sheikhs, some of whom I read with, and some of whom I asked about the Makkan letters." The narration of Imam Ibn Flih about Imam Ibn Kathir is the most famous narration after the narrations of Al-Bazzi and Qanbal, as evidenced by the consensus of the early scholars in their books that expanded on various narrations across different eras and times. The narration of Imam Ibn Flih from Imam Ibn Kathir is one of the narrations whose chain of transmission is considered sahih (authentic) and whose transmission is well-established until the era of Ibn Al-Jazari. However, this is not sufficient for the narration to be considered mutawatir. Most of Imam Ibn Flih's readings agreed with Imam Ibn Kathir's Makkan reading. The instances where Ibn Flih agreed with the ten reciters are considered sahih (correct) and can be recited; this is due to their agreement with the mutawatir readings of the ten reciters, which are sahih from their isnads and ways.
