The aim of the research is to identify the degree of availability of the characteristics of a productive university at King Khalid University. The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach, as he relied on the questionnaire to collect data from the research sample, which consisted of (382) faculty members at King Khalid University, who were chosen using a simple random method. The most prominent results of the research were that the degree of availability of the characteristics of the productive university (educational, research, and service) at King Khalid University was very high. There are statistically significant differences between the characteristics of the productive university (educational, research, and service) according to gender, and the differences were in favor of males. There are no statistically significant differences between the characteristics of the productive university (educational, research, and service) according to years of experience. The research presented a set of recommendations, the most prominent of which are: continuing to develop the curricula at King Khalid University in line with the requirements of comprehensive and sustainable development, and in a way that enhances students’ skills according to labor market variables, encouraging applied research that contributes to addressing real issues and providing innovative solutions that contribute to supporting local and national development, directing graduate students’ research towards studying field problems in various Sectors, linking scientific research to the actual needs of society.
