The current study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a counseling program based on acceptance and commitment in developing the quality of life of orphan girls, and to determine the extent of its continued effectiveness in the post- and follow-up measurements. To achieve the study objectives, the quasi-experimental approach was used. The study tools included a quality of life scale prepared by the researcher and the counseling program. The study sample consisted of (30) orphan girls from secondary school in Jazan Education, aged (17-19 years), with a mean of (24.20) and a standard deviation of (0.78). The sample was randomly distributed into an experimental group of (15) orphans, who were subjected to an acceptance and commitment counseling program, and a control group of (15) orphans, who were not subjected to the counseling program. The results revealed the effectiveness of the counseling program based on acceptance and commitment in developing the quality of life of orphan girls in the post- and follow-up measurements, and the presence of differences in the average ranks of the scores of the experimental and control groups on the quality of life scale in favor of the experimental group, as well as the presence of a strong effect size for the counseling program.
