The study aimed to reveal cognitive dissonance and its relationship with marital emotional stability in a sample of working women in the city of Jeddah. The study sample consisted of 435 working women, who were selected using simple random sampling. To collect information, the researcher used the cognitive dissonance scale developed by Jadou and Al-Malahim (2020) and the marital emotional stability scale developed by the researcher (2025). The results showed a statistically significant inverse relationship between cognitive dissonance and marital emotional stability. In light of the results, the study recommended the need to develop guidance programs aimed at the sample of working women, with the aim of acquiring and reinforcing positive traits that achieve marital emotional stability, such as calmness, optimism, empathy, tolerance, and independence. These traits help working women maintain their stability in the face of rapid changes in various aspects of their lives. The study also highlighted working women aged 40 and above, and also those who have children, by centers that provide psychological and counseling support related to married life, to provide awareness and counseling sessions, as the results of the study revealed a high level of cognitive dissonance in some dimensions among this group.
Keywords: cognitive dissonance, emotional marital stability, working women, married life.
