This study seeks to examine the characteristics of the Arabic nominal sentence as it appears in Sūrat Nūḥ, which recounts the story of the Prophet Noah—peace be upon him—and his call to his people. The research highlights the distinctive features of the nominal sentence structures in the sūrah, whether they occur as independent sentences or as components of larger syntactic units. A close reading of the Qur’anic text reveals that every structure is employed to convey a specific meaning and fulfill a precise rhetorical function, all articulated through clear and eloquent Arabic expression. Any reader with familiarity in Arabic stylistics can discern the appropriateness of each syntactic construction within the Qur’anic context for which it was revealed, both at the lexical and semantic levels. The study adopts a descriptive and analytical methodology, drawing on the views of linguists and exegetes regarding the verses of the sūrah. It analyzes these verses to identify and articulate the key features of their nominal sentences. By systematically surveying the nominal sentences in Sūrat Nūḥ, the research provides both semantic and structural analyses to uncover the unique properties of these constructions.
