The study aimed to identify the challenges of implementing electronic leadership in government elementary schools in western Riyadh and the mechanisms for overcoming them. The descriptive analytical method was used, and a questionnaire was used as a research instrument. The study population consisted of female principals and vice-principals of government elementary schools in western Riyadh. The study sample consisted of 103 individuals. The study found that the study sample agreed to a moderate degree on the challenges of implementing electronic leadership. The most prominent challenges were the lack of training programs for school staff on electronic leadership programs and the lack of appropriate regulations and legislation governing electronic leadership programs. The results also showed that the study sample agreed to a high degree concerning the mechanisms for activating electronic leadership. The most prominent of these mechanisms were addressing positive change acceptance and trying new management methods within specified guidelines, as well as providing a set of plans for implementing electronic administration.
