The study aimed to determine the potentials of research innovation in the social sciences in Saudi universities. (King Saud University, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Hafar Al-Batin University). The study population consisted of faculty members in Saudi universities, and the study sample included a random sample of 180 faculty members in Saudi universities. The study confirmed that the reality of research innovation in social sciences in Saudi universities is high, and that the difficulties facing research innovation in social sciences in Saudi universities are prevalent. It also confirmed the possibilities of research innovation in the social sciences in Saudi universities. The possibilities of research innovation in the social sciences in Saudi universities are high. The study also concluded that there are important enablers of research innovation in the social sciences in Saudi universities: such as ddeveloping the scientific research skills of faculty members ,promoting the digital human resources management for the scientific research system, the quality of the academic and research environment, intellectual capital management in research centers, building innovative institutional capabilities in research centers, developing strategic intelligence among researchers, developing good practices in the field of scientific research, developing scientific research ethics.
