Abstract
The aim of the research is to know the level of internet addiction and its relationship to social support among the female students( at Governmental institution) To achieve the objectives of the research, the descriptive survey method was used, and Two scales were used, the first of them; The Internet addiction scale prepared by: Bashbash (2018), and the second measure of social support prepared by: Abdullah (2021), and the two scales were applied to (388) female students from Academic institution, who were chosen by the stratified random method, who were chosen in a stratified random way. Chat, TikTok Tok, and Telegram ranked last. It also found that the level of Internet addiction among female students in the study sample was medium, while the level of social support was high, It also found that there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of female students on Internet addiction and social support attributed to the variable of age and the interaction between specialization and age. And there were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of female students on Internet addiction attributed for the interaction between specialization and age. There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of female students on Internet addiction and social support due to the variable of specialization in favor of literary specialization on the Internet addiction scale, and in favor of scientific specialization on the social support scale. And there is a statistically significant inverse correlation relationship at the level of significance (0.01) between the degrees of Academic institution, the study sample in the total score of the Internet addiction scale, and their scores in the total score of the social support scale.
