The digital transformation skills necessary for students in colleges of education and arts in Saudi universities And the extent to which they are able to do so from their point of view: (field study)

This study aimed to identify the digital transformation skills necessary for students in colleges of education and arts in Saudi universities and the extent to which they are able to acquire them. To achieve this objective, a descriptive methodology was employed, utilizing a questionnaire for data collection. The study sample consisted of 1,260 students from the Colleges of Education and Arts. The findings indicated that the approval of the study sample on the necessary digital transformation skills for university students was high. However, the proficiency level of university students in these skills was found to be low. Additionally, the results showed no statistically significant differences in the responses of the study sample attributable to the gender variable. In contrast, statistically significant differences were found in their responses attributable to the college variable, favoring students from the College of Education. Key recommendations of the study include the need for extensive training and qualification of faculty members and university leaders to activate digital transformation in higher education, the importance of engaging with the private sector and the local community to establish partnerships that contribute to the implementation of digital transformation in the university and enhance students' acquisition of the necessary digital transformation skills, efforts to increase opportunities for the internationalization of higher education, especially with countries advanced in digital transformation, and incorporating the essential digital transformation skills for university students into teaching programs and university student activities.
