The study aimed to identify the requirements for implementing self-management in girls' secondary schools in Asir region. The study used the descriptive analytical approach، and the original study community consisted of the number of girls' secondary schools in Asir region، which are (40) government schools and (7) private schools، i.e. a total of (47) principals for the second semester of the year (1446). A random sample of (27) school principals، between government and private، was selected، with a percentage of (67.5) of the original community. The necessary data was collected using a questionnaire. The study reached important results، including: Human requirements are the most available requirements for self-management in girls' secondary schools، followed by cognitive requirements، while both legislative and material requirements are the least available requirements in these schools. The following requirements are considered the most available cognitive requirements: disseminating knowledge among school staff about democracy and its practice in school، activating the school's contribution to spreading the culture of decentralization in the local community، and providing school staff with information about self-management and its applications. The following requirements are considered the most available human requirements: encouraging human relations between the administration and school workers، activating the role of parents' councils in schools، and instilling confidence in school workers in their abilities and capabilities. Among the recommendations set by the study: supporting the use of educational research results regarding decentralization in school administration، and applying self-management in schools، in order to develop its implementation and work. Providing various mechanisms to support the knowledge and skills of school workers who demonstrate leadership capabilities، to benefit from them in school management.
