Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are among the most prevalent health conditions worldwide, leading to significant mortality and disability. In Saudi Arabia, statistics indicate a rising incidence of heart diseases, making it crucial to investigate factors that influence patient stability. This study aims to explore the role of family bonding in improving the health condition of heart disease patients by assessing the impact of emotional and social support provided by family members on patient stability.
The study employed a descriptive analytical approach, using a questionnaire distributed to 70 heart disease patients attending the cardiology clinic at King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Jeddah. The research tool included questions measuring the level of family bonding, emotional support, and its effect on patient adherence to treatment and overall health stability.
The findings revealed that patients with strong family support exhibited better psychological and physical stability compared to those with weaker family ties. The study recommends increasing awareness programs for families about the importance of emotional and psychological support for heart patients and incorporating family bonding strategies into healthcare programs.
