The present study aimed at building a program based on connectivism theory, and measuring its effectiveness in developing the skills of digital citizenship skills among the seventh-grade students in Riyadh city. Also, it includes a list of digital citizenship skills. To meet the study goals, the descriptive approach followed to identify the appropriate skills of digital citizenship. However, the experimental approach with a design of one group (pre-post test) followed to detect the effectiveness of the program based on the theory of connectivism in the development of the digital citizenship skills among the students. Two tools were designed to achieve this purpose; the skills of digital citizenship test. The program was applied to the sample of the study (44) intermediate first-grade students who represented in the experimental group.
The study reached the following results:
A list of the appropriate to develop digital citizenship skills for the sample, consisting of (9) main skills under which there are 24 sub skills.
Building of an enrichment program based on the theory of connectivism to develop the digital citizenship and moral thinking skills based on set of research procedures and enhanced with teacher guidebook.
There was statistically significant difference at the significant level of 0.05 between the grades average of the study sample in the pre and post measurement in favor of the post measurement.
Effectiveness of the enrichment program based on the theory of connectivism to develop the skills of digital citizenship among the students.
In the light of the results of the study, number of recommendations were addressed.
