The study aimed to identify the attitudes of communication professionals toward the use of artificial intelligence in journalistic work. The study relied on the survey method and was theoretically based on the Technology Acceptance and Use Theory. It is a descriptive study applied to a sample of (120) workers in journalistic institutions, using a questionnaire as a tool.
The results of the study indicated that the attitudes of communication professionals in journalistic institutions toward employing artificial intelligence technologies in journalistic work were positive. However, their abilities to utilize AI technologies in serving and developing the journalistic field varied between high and medium. Additionally, communication professionals in journalistic institutions have a clear vision for the future use of AI technologies in the journalistic work environment.
The results also showed statistically significant differences in the responses of the study sample members attributed to the variable of years of experience concerning the expected extent of the spread of AI journalism applications in journalistic work in the near future, as well as the areas of employing AI technologies in journalistic work. However, the study found no statistically significant differences in the responses of the study sample members attributed to the variable of years of experience concerning the perceived importance of employing AI in journalism.
