Abstract
The current research aims to reveal the educational reform visions of Sheikh Farid Al-Ansari and their contemporary applications (1960-2009 AD) from the point of view of some specialists through a critical analytical study. To achieve the study objective, the descriptive approach was used, as well as content analysis; where an analysis form was employed as a study tool, and it consisted of five main axes: 1- The theoretical and methodological foundations of educational thought according to Farid Al-Ansari, 2- Farid Al-Ansari’s diagnosis of the crisis of Islamic educational discourse, 3- The points of agreement and disagreement between Al-Ansari’s model and contemporary Islamic educational discourses, 4- The “Quran Councils” model as a practical approach to renewing educational discourse, 5- The limits and effectiveness of educational reform visions as a model in modern educational contexts. The study reached a set of results, namely: Al-Ansari's visions of educational reform are based on five main pillars: emulating the prophetic approach in proceeding from the Qur'an to civilization, purification and the Qur'an, nationalizing the call to God Almighty and liberating it from all ideological affiliations and political orientations, following the moderate approach in education through cognitive determinants and realistic models, and innate education as the foundation of education according to Al-Ansari. The crisis of Islamic da'wah discourse is based on three pillars: first, indoctrination instead of formation, second, detachment from reality, and third, the absence of renewal. Al-Ansari's model is consistent with contemporary Islamic educational discourses in calling for the renewal of Islamic educational discourse and the reconstruction of the Muslim individual. Al-Ansari's renewal of Islamic educational discourse is based on a set of characteristics, the most important of which are: knowledge of the past, focusing renewal on the primary legal source, the Holy Qur'an, and comprehensive renewal of scientific and educational da'wah methods. In addition, it is a comprehensive renewal of all aspects of da'wah, educational, political, and social thought. Al-Ansari's approach is unique among contemporary Islamic preaching discourses in that it features a natural approach to preaching, a Quranic content in education, and scholarly leadership in guidance. It is primarily based on the centrality of the Holy Quran and is entirely reliant on correcting the intellectual and behavioral reality of the Islamic preaching movement in Morocco and the Islamic world. Al-Ansari has used Quranic sessions as an educational tool to uplift the Muslim community and presented a set of educational foundations that demonstrate the effectiveness of his model in modern educational contexts. These foundations are: The first foundation: The Quran is the primary source of education. The second foundation: Spiritual and purifying education is the foundation for building the Muslim personality. The third foundation: The comprehensiveness of education and its reliance on understanding and applying Islamic law.
