The study aimed to determine the degree of availability of the requirements for activating strategic alliances among Saudi universities to prepare their students in accordance with the needs of the international labor market, in light of Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes aligning higher education outcomes with labor market demands. The study employed the descriptive-analytical method and utilized a questionnaire as the main data collection tool. The sample consisted of 404 faculty members and academic leaders from several Saudi universities.
The results revealed that the degree of availability of the requirements for activating strategic alliances among Saudi universities was moderate overall. The planning and organizational requirements ranked first, followed by legislative and policy-related requirements, while the human and material requirements ranked last. The findings highlighted the importance of enhancing academic and research alliances among universities locally and internationally to better prepare graduates with the competencies and skills demanded by the global labor market.
The study recommended the establishment of specialized units for alliances and partnerships within Saudi universities, the adoption of national policies that promote academic and research cooperation between Saudi and international universities, the provision of institutional and financial support to ensure the sustainability of such alliances, and the development of joint curricula and academic programs that align with the requirements of the international labor market.
