Support Services for Students with Disabilities at Tabuk University

Abstract

The support services, facilities, and obstacles that students with disabilities face at the university are important issues that affect their university life. Therefore, the current study aim to identify the support services, facilities, and obstacles that students with disabilities face at the University of Tabuk. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher prepared a questionnaire consisting of 38 items distributed on three axes, the first : The support services that are provided to students at the University of Tabuk and it consisted of 12 items, the second: the facilities provided by the university to students, it consisted of 15 items, and the third: the obstacles that students face Persons with disabilities at Tabuk University, consisted of 11 items. After arbitration, the questionnaire was applied to 25 students with disabilities  at Tabuk University as an perpusive sample. The descriptive approach was applied. The results indicated that the level of services provided in general is high, and the facilities and obstacles facing Tabuk University students with disabilities are moderate. It also indicated that there was no statistically significant difference in the services provided to them and the obstacles they face according to the gender variable, while there was a statistically significant difference in the facilities provided according to the gender variable in favor of males, and the results indicated that there was no statistically significant difference in the services, facilities and obstacles according to the type of disability.
