Abstract

The research aims to study the effectiveness of a proposed unit using STEAM in developing digital creativity among students of the Educational College. The research uses the descriptive method in designing the proposed unit and the semi-experimental method in applying the unit to the third intermediate students and measuring its effectiveness in developing digital creativity. The research sample consisted of (70 A student from the College of Education enrolled in the field education training course) at the University of Tabuk, who were divided into (35) students as an experimental group who taught the proposed unit while performing field education in the intermediate stage, and (35) students as a control group who taught the unit in the traditional way. The scale was designed by translating the DoCENT scale, which is considered a reference model for the European Union to be endorsed for developing and evaluating digital creative teaching competencies, and it was used pre and post the teaching experiment. After collecting and analyzing the data, the research reached the following results: The percentage of digital creativity is low among the students at the College of Education in the pre-measurement, and the change in the different areas of digital creativity was noticeable in the post-measurement of the experimental group, and there are also statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the post-application. For the experimental group, which indicates that there is a positive change that has occurred after using the proposed unit, Overmore the size of the impact resulting from the proposed unit was large, and the research recommends that there is a need to adopt programs aimed at developing digital creativity and its various skills, and the importance of developing curricula in line with global trends such as adopting programs STEAM and the integration of sciences. Attention should be paid to training teachers pre and during service, and attention to developing skills Digital creativity for both students and teachers.
