The Reality of Educational Policies Employing Open-Source Courses (MOOCs) in Saudi Arabia

Abstract

The study aimed to learn about the realities of the Education Policies for the Employment of Open-Source Courses (MOOCs) in Saudi Arabia, and to reveal the challenges hindering educational policies for the employment of open-source courses (MOOCs) in university education.
  The survey descriptive curriculum was used to fit the study's objectives and questions, using the identification tool, and applied to the study community of three universities: (King Saud, King Abdul Aziz and King Fahad Petroleum and Minerals), represented by the 370 random sample, who occupy academic ranks and those in their judgment: (Maid, Lecturer, Assistant turer) Professor - Associate.   The results of the study resulted in faculty approval of the focus of educational policy for the employment of open source courses (MOOCs) in university education with a degree (OK), and the sample approval of the focus of educational policy challenges for the employment of open source courses (MOOCs) in university education with a degree (OK) generally, and at the level of dimensions of the axis came the third dimension: The administrative and organizational dimension is first followed by the first dimension: technical and physical dimension is second, and finally the second dimension: human dimension is third. In light of the results, the study presented a proposed perception of educational policies for the use of open-source courses in university education, and a number of research recommendations and proposals.
