The Role of Leadership Styles in Organizational Commitment with Female Administrative Staff in the General Education Administration of Najran

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the role of leadership styles in the organizational commitment with (142) female administrative staff in the General Education Administration in Najran. A descriptive correlation methodology was used in this study through designing a questionnaire to collect the required data about the variables of the study. After collecting the data and analysing them statistically through using appropriate statistical techniques, the study revealed that: the degree of the organizational commitment with female administrative staff in the General Education Administration of Najran from their perspectives was high; there was a statistically significant positive correlation relationship between at the level (0.01) between the overall degree of the ''Leadership Styles'' area and all areas of the organizational commitment (i.e., emotional commitment, continual commitment, standard commitment) together with the overall degree of the whole area; both ''Social Club Leadership'' and 'Halfway Leadership'' were effective leadership styles in predicting the overall degree of the organizational commitment, i.e., they both affected the overall degree of the organizational commitment with the sample; the ''Halfway Leadership'' scored the most effective style in predicting the overall degree of the organizational commitment while the ''Social Club Leadership'' style scored the second most effective one in predicting the overall degree of the organizational commitment; and there were no statistically significant differences between the sample's responses concerning the organizational commitment and its dimensions attributed to the variables of age, years of experience, and scientific qualification.  Based on the findings of the study, a set of recommendations were introduced such as emphasizing job enrichment with female administrative staff in the General Education Administration in Najran, connecting between and public and private interests, and reinforcing the organizational commitment with female administrative staff through establishing an organizational justice and improving the organization climate inside administrations.
